Sketch for Don Lagerberg's retirement book
One of my instructors from CSUF, Don Lagerberg, just retired this past semester. I took all of his life drawing classes while at CSUF as well as his storyboarding class. It was in this class that he introduced me to a movie called Casablanca. We watched it so many times in class to study all the shots and staging that I thought I would never want to see it again. Now it remains one of my favorite movies. When doing a sketch for Don's retirement book I decided to parody the cafe where most of the movie takes place. If you are not familiar with the movie I've included a screen shot. If you have not seen this movie, go watch it.

Oh, MY GOD! He retired??? I was in several of his studio classes back in the mid-70's with the likes of Ron Reeder and John Brinegar! I tell all of my students about how much he inspired me because he REALLY challenged and pushed me. I'd love to see him again. Attended a Graduate Show or two to go see him, but he wasn't there yet. I will never forget him! I teach high school studio art and photography.
